CourtRun is a basketball social map: open the app, see who's hooping on which public outdoor courts in real time, check in with a tap, send game invites to other players on the same court, keep score on a global leaderboard, build a team, chat with your crew, and submit new courts that don't exist on the map yet.
Everything is local. No backend, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. Your account lives on your device.
I forgot my password — how do I reset it?
On the login screen, tap Forgot password? Enter the email you signed up with, then set a new password (minimum 6 characters). Your existing account stays intact — games, friends, teams, points, all preserved.
Can I use my email instead of username to log in?
Yes. The login field accepts either. If your input contains an @, the
app looks it up by email; otherwise by username.
Why does CourtRun ask for location and camera?
Location is only used when you tap the recenter button on the
map — it centers the view on you. Your coordinates never leave the device.
Camera is only used when you're submitting a new court and tap Take photo.
The photo is saved to the app's private folder.
Both permissions can be revoked any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
A game I won wasn't counted on the leaderboard.
Points only count when both players report the same winner. If your opponent hasn't reported yet, the game shows Pending. If they reported differently, it shows Disputed and no points are awarded — either side can re-report after the 5-minute cooldown.
I want to submit a new court — what's the process?
Open the profile drawer (tap your avatar in the top-left of the map), tap Submit a court, fill in name + address, drop the map pin where the court is, pick a photo (camera or library), and submit. The admin reviews and either approves (it goes live for everyone) or rejects (you'll see the status in My submissions).
I just signed in but my old check-ins are gone.
Check-ins are session-only — every time CourtRun launches, you start fresh. This is intentional so the map never shows stale "live" players. Re-check-in is a single tap.
Why are there only courts in Bucks County and Northeast Philadelphia?
That's the initial coverage area. Want courts somewhere else? Submit them through the in-app flow and they'll go live after admin review.
Are my chat messages or check-ins shared with the developer?
No. CourtRun has no backend. Everything you see in the app — your account, your friends, your team chat, your check-ins, your court submissions — is stored on your device only. See our Privacy Policy.
